Wounded FWPD Officer Released From Hospital
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Wounded Fort Worth police officer Matthew Pearce went home from John Peter Smith Hospital today.
Pearce, who was shot multiple times in the line of duty nearly two months ago, was wheeled out to the sound of bad pipes and applause. It was an emotional moment from all in attendance, from his fellow police officers to friends and family.
His family released the following statement shortly before he went home: We are grateful the Lord spared Matt's life, grateful for doctors, nurses and blue family. We're reminded we're never alone.
