Would Be Pill Thief in Jail

A man who packed a BB gun as he tried to steal pills from a Grapevine drug store was captured quickly after a botched robbery.  Adrian Brooks gave the pharmacist at a CVS on Hall Johnson road in Grapevine a note indicating he was armed.  She could see the butt of the gun against his body, so she handed over two bottles of the painkiller hydrocodone.   Brooks was stopped by the store manager on his way out.  Grapevine Police Lt. Todd Dearing says the manager asked Brooks if he had any stolen merchandise.  "Brooks said, what do we do now?  The manager said we need to take it back to the pharmacy and return it.  Mr. Brooks looked at him and said, can we split it?"
Dearing says Brooks handed the pills over and was caught shortly thereafter.  He's now charged with aggravated robbery.
