MESQUITE (CBSDFW.COM) - The North Texas Municipal Water District experienced a pump failure at one of the four ozone facilities. The ozone has been restored and the ozone dosage has been increased to mitigate the taste and odor.

As a result of the temporary outage, customers in Mesquite may notice a change in the taste or odor of their water. Lab analysis indicate that an algal bloom is occurring.

The city says the water is safe for use and meets the Safe Drinking Water Standards, though the taste and odor changes may be noticed. There are no health concerns created as a result of the taste and odor.

The NTMWD website does have Taste & Odor information.
