Warm Week With Spotty Rain Possible Tomorrow
WARM WEEK AHEAD… WITH RAIN CHANCES TOMORROW…
This week will be a warm end to February and March will come in like a lamb. Temperatures today have warmed into the upper 60s and low 70s for some despite a good deal of cloud cover.
A strong upper level low is moving on shore in California today and that will move into the Central Plains tonight into tomorrow. The bulk of the energy with this storm system will stay well north of us here in North Texas. That means not much in the way of thunderstorms for our area as the CAP will be rather strong tomorrow. I do expect to see some scattered showers develop overnight into the morning tomorrow. A few of these showers may linger into the afternoon and evening.
A Pacific Cold Front will arrive tomorrow evening and that may trigger a thunderstorm up along the Red River. From Paris to Clarksville and points is east is the only area in North Texas in the Slight Risk for severe weather tomorrow and tomorrow night.
Here is a map showing the area in the Slight Risk for Severe Weather tomorrow.
Temperatures tomorrow will warm into the low 70s despite again a good deal of cloud cover.
WARM WEEK…
Like most Pacific Cold Fronts, the one that come thru tomorrow night will not have much cold air behind it. In fact, it will get even warmer on Wednesday and Thursday. Winds will be out of the southwest on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will warm into the upper 70s close to 80s on those two days!
FRIDAY COLD FRONT…
A cold front with at least a little cooler air behind it will arrive on Friday. I don't expect any rain with that front here in DFW, but for areas south and east there could be a stray thunderstorm. It will turn a little bit cooler for the weekend behind this front, but still rather pleasant.
WEEKEND…
Saturday will be cooler with a morning low of 44 and a high of 60, but with lots of sunshine it will be rather nice. Sunday will be chilly in the morning starting around 39 and then warming to 68 in the afternoon with sunshine.
