DALLAS (CBS11) - The surveillance video shows scary moments for Angelica Kuluo.

Moments after she went inside a Dallas 7-11 at Buckner and Elam in Pleasant Grove and left her one-year-old daughter in her car with it still running, a man drove off in it.

Police are reviewing the store's surveillance video as they continue to search for two suspects.

Detectives initially questioned a third man.

On her Facebook page, Kuluo said she was on her way to church.

Former Cockrell Hill police chief Catherine Smit-Torrez says, "We don't live in the garden of Eden."

As a mother, Smit-Torrez says she understands, it takes time to take a child out of a car seat just to run a quick errand, but says saving time and leaving a child inside a running car can prove costly in more ways than one. "We can't trust there isn't some opportunist out lurking to steal your car."

Luckily for Kuluo, police say the two suspects dropped off her daughter in a nearby park in her car seat.
The little girl is fine and she and her mother were quickly reunited.

Smit-Torrez says this case serves as an important reminder to parents.

"It is the law you don't leave a child alone in any car unless they are supervised by a 14-year-old child (or older)."

Dallas Police have not filed charges against the mother.

Once caught, police the suspects face charges of kidnapping, child abandonment and endangerment, and car theft.
