ARLINGTON (CBS11) - Months after inmate Jonathan Paul died shortly after being booked at the Arlington Jail, two detention officers who handled Paul are now being indicted on "criminally negligent homicide."

Arlington Police released the findings of a grand jury Monday night.

Pedro Medina was placed on paid leave. Steve Schmidt has since retired.

Seven discs were released that included more than 30 hours of footage from the moments Paul was arrested, booked and then rushed to the hospital.

Paul was arrested on outstanding warrants after Arlington Police were called to his home on a disturbance call.

Once inside the jail, Paul was eventually moved to a isolation cell. The video shows Paul roaring and yelling, "I am the lion king!"

Investigators said Paul would not listen to the commands of detention officers and started taking off his clothes and flooding the bathroom.

Several detention officers pulled Paul out to restrain him, including Medina and Schmidt.

While investigators do not outright point out why the men were indicted specifically, both were booked at the Tarrant County Jail.

Paul was eventually moved, restrained and pepper-sprayed. An autopsy report indicates those action played a role in Paul's death.

Paramedics were eventually called to the jail after detention officers noticed shallow breathing from the inmate.

Investigators said Paul suffered a heart attack, was shocked and eventually rushed to the hospital.

Paul was later diagnosed with a kidney injury, respiratory and liver failure and a fever.

His family took him off of life support days later.

The lawyer for Jonathan Paul did not comment on Monday indicating the family needed time to review the video.
