Vans Recalls Boy's Hoodies Due To Strangulation Hazard
DALLAS/FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Vans is recalling about 2,400 of its 'AV Edict' hooded jackets for boys because the drawstrings in the hood around the neck area pose a strangulation hazard to young children.
Vans stores nationwide and online at vans.com sold the hoodies from September 2012 through September 2013 for about $90. They were sold in boy's sizes S, M, L and XL and made from black cotton or black canvas with a drawstring through the hood.
Consumers should take the recalled jackets away from children, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or for a repair.
The jackets were made in India. No injuries have been reported.
