UIL Passes new Concussion Rules
The UIL approves a new policy for student who get concussions while playing sports of doing other UIL sanctioned activities. Under the current policy if a student is symptom free for 15 minutes they can return to play but under the new policy that can't happen. "They would have to follow a step wise progression based on the evaluation of a licensed health care professional." The UIL's Mark Cousins says these new rules take effect next school year if approved by the Education Commissioner.
