FORT WORTH (CBS 11 NEWS) - Two workers are recovering after a horrifying on the job accident.
Employees for Gold Star Metalex, GSM, were still on scene this afternoon. From the street, you could see them near the some of the cutting equipment.
"No, they're just having a meeting, an office assistant for GSM told us. "But you guys can't be here. That's all I can say.
CBS 11 Reporter Mireya Villarreal tried to get more information on the company's history and the accident, but was asked to leave. Villarreal left a business card for the owner, a businessman based out of Houston, and asked for someone to get back with us. But as of late Monday, no one had reached out.
"A large metal beam fell on one patient. And at the same time another patient suffered burns to his face," Kyle Falkner, Fort Worth Fire Department spokesman, explained.
Fort Worth firefighters responded to the accident scene today. The burned worker was taken to Parkland hospital on care flight and the other patient was taken to JPS Hospital.
Fort Worth's fire department is verifying all permits for this business are current and valid, but couldn't say much more.
"You'll have to speak with management here. They are governed by OSHA standards and they'll be able to better answer those questions," Falkner added.
A closer look at OSHA's website shows Gold Star Metalex did not have any previous problems.
