SEALY (AP) — Investigators say a child riding in the front seat of a car was killed when part of a Central Texas highway bridge collapsed after a truck hit it.
Sealy police say a woman driving the car was critically hurt in the crash Thursday morning after part of the truck struck a Highway 90 overpass. Debris from the damaged bridge fell onto Highway 36 and hit the car.
Police say the woman was transported to a hospital. Another child in the car survived. Officials didn't immediately provide information on the status of the truck driver.
Further details weren't immediately available.
Sealy is 40 miles west of Houston.
