FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - The woman once dubbed the "Bionic Bride" took the podium at Cook Children's Medical Center with quite a story. Ally Babineaux is living with someone else's heart beating in her chest.
That "someone else" was 14-year-old Sade Green, who died from an asthma attack in February 2011.
And after five years, Babineaux finally met the family who made the life-saving decision to donate Green's heart to the 28-year-old.
Cook Children's Medical Center organized the reunion for 19 families, to say "thank you".
"You can't really say anything after that," said Babineaux.
A spokesperson for Cook Children's said 22 people die each day because of a lack of available organs. Right now, more than 13,000 Texans are on the national organ donor waiting list.
