Tonight at 7pm: Ken Starr on Kagan Hearings, Illegal Immigration Battle in Rhode Island?, and more...
Happy Friday everybody. What a week it's been, and we'll be going full throttle all the way through the end of the Friday night show. Some of the things I've already got lined up for us...
At 7:05: Former federal prosecutor and current Baylor University President Ken Starr will join me to talk about the absolute charade that now passes for a Supreme Court confirmation hearing the United States Senate. Nominee Elena Kagan has had the senators in stitches with her funny lines, but is it a confirmation hearing for the highest court in the land or an open mic night? Kagan is probably going to be a great Justice, but it would be nice to have her answer some real questions before she gets a lifetime appointment.

At 8:05: The founder of the Minuteman Project, Jim Gilchrest, will join me to talk about one of their big initiatives now: The Providence Project. Jim says it's all about trying to get an immigration enforcement bill through the Rhode Island legislature. I've never thought of Rhode Island as "ground zero" for the illegal immigration battle, but every state has its issues with the problem. We'll get into it
At 8:20: Joshua Keating from the pages of Foreign Policy Magazine will join me to talk about whether President Obama is really "in a hurry" to get immigration reform done. As I've emphasized repeatedly on the show, the President seems to genuinely want a solution, but he's never put forth a solid timetable for getting a sweeping piece of immigration reform legislation on his desk.
At 8:35: My Chief of Staff, Jaxon, has been keeping track of this week's pop culture stories that he's sure I must have missed in my quest to cover the most important issues of each day. We'll call it Jaxon's Pop Culture Roundup.
