DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A Dallas toddler who was found floating in a small pond behind the apartment office of the Chimney Hill Apartments has died.

Police said 22-month-old Christian Harris, was staying with an adult cousin Monday at a condo on Fireglow Walk in northeast Dallas, just north of the LBJ Freeway, when at some point, he wandered outside the condo. Harris' mother was out of town.

When the child's caretaker couldn't find the boy, the family called police.

"Officers and neighbors began to search the area when they found what appeared to be a small child face down in a small pond behind the apartment office across the street," said Dallas Police Senior Corporal DeMarquis Black.

Black said Harris was given CPR and rushed to Medical City Hospital where he later passed away.

Police said they don't anticipate filing any charges for the toddler's death.
