Today's Weather: A Little Bit Of Everything

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - We can expect a little bit of everything in our Monday forecast.  A Pacific cold front is starting to arrive this morning.  Showers will be with us during the morning hours especially from the metroplex to areas east.  This front is not so much a cold front as it is a change in humidity.

Ahead of the front moist humid air is streaming northward from the Gulf of Mexico.  Behind the front, the air will be very dry with dewpoints crashing into the 20s and 30s.  It will also be windy behind the front with winds gusting to 35 mph out of the west.  Because of the high winds and dry air, the western half of North Texas is under a Red Flag Warning during the daylight hours tomorrow.

Rain chances will shift east rather quickly in the morning, so the windy for rain in the metroplex is from before daybreak through mid-morning.  Showers and storms will continue in our far eastern counties through early afternoon.

A Canadian cold front will arrive Monday night.  This will shift the winds to the northwest Monday night and bring colder temperatures for Tuesday.

Tuesday morning will start in the 30s with wind chills in the upper 20s.  There will also be a few clouds drifting through the region early Tuesday morning.  These clouds will likely produce snowflakes.  However, the air will be very dry so these snowflakes will evaporate or sublimate before they reach the ground.  Highs on Tuesday will be near 50 degrees.

The rest of the week from Wednesday through the upcoming weekend looks rather calm with a slow warming trend each day so by the weekend we will see highs near 70 degrees.
