Today's @CBSDFW Storm Team Blog: A Long Wait for More Rain

It has been another hot and breezy day in North Texas.  We did not see 100° at DFW, but will most likely start seeing triple digits again by Friday or Saturday.

We've actually had fewer 100° days this summer than the normal average for a summer and much fewer than the average just in the past 10 years.

The weekly drought update came out today and it still shows most of North Texas in drought.  There has been some improvement, both in our northern counties and southern counties.  Overall though, we could definitely use more rainfall.

The forecast for Friday does not include rain, however.

In fact, we'll have a stretch of triple digit heat going into the weekend.  Our upper level high pressure heat pump will strengthen and pull closer to Texas.

By the middle of next week, however, a weak cold front will try to make a run for North Texas.  With increased gulf moisture, we will have a better chance of rain starting Wednesday...but not much until then.

Here's your hot 7DAY FORECAST!
