CEDAR HILL (CBS11) - Julia Dunn took care of her Christmas shopping early. "I put the presents in the laundry room for hiding from her," as Dunn teasingly points to her 9-year-old daughter, Tara.
The Cedar Hill mother of two says everything changed Saturday afternoon when her son contacted her by phone.
"He said the TV and the presents are gone, and he knew who took it, because he saw them."
When Dunn arrived, she called Cedar Hill Police. Not only had her home been burglarized, the family was shocked over the claim the son made.
"I work two jobs for my kids, and for someone to come in and pry the door open and take their stuff, it's like I work for them," Dunn said.
Because the person has not been charged by police, his name is withheld in this report.
Authorities are checking the family claim, but the item possibly gone for good is trust. Little Tara had a long list of present wishes.
"I know Christmas is about giving, not getting. He (the suspect) was my friend, my BFF, and friends don't take from each other because it's not right and not fair."
