The Season Returns

RAIN, STORMS, WARM WEATHER ALL TAKE A SEASONABLE BREAK

Just to recap, the month of February started out with three days in a row of 70 degree weather. We finally paid the price for this balmy winter weather with a round of severe weather last night. Things are going to take a drier and more seasonable turn, something you likely noticed if out walking about on this Saturday morning. Yes, that was a winter wind blowing from the north, gusts were peaking close to 30mph. Not welcomed but certainly not unexpected in the winter months.

TONIGHT: Cloudy, Mid-30's and brisk winds

We'll certainly have a chill in the air for Sunday services. Lows in the urban area will bottom out in the mid-30's and tuck just around freezing or below in the outlying areas. Winds will be steady and strong from the northwest with gust near 20mph.

SUPERBOWL SUNDAY: A little Sunshine, Low-50's, Steady Cold Winds

Partly sunny skies are expected by afternoon but by noon it'll likely still be mostly cloudy and in the low 40's with a brisk northwest wind. Sun breaks out just enough to get into the low 50's but the wind will make it coat weather throughout the day.

MONDAY: Mostly Sunny, mid-50's, less wind

TUESDAY: Partly Sunny, near 60, Winds: SSE 5-10

WEDNESDAY: Partly Sunny, around 60

NEXT RAIN CHANCE: THURSDAY/FRIDAY

It appears that an upper level low is going to swing just to our south on Thursday and Friday. We'll get some rain out of that track. Thursday we'll get into the low 60's with cloudy skies and occasional rain. A cold front comes through on Friday and drops the temperatures down into the 50's for an afternoon high. It'll be another cloudy day with occasional rain. This is not a set-up for strong storms. That is a statement determined by the track of the low so we'll keep an eye to the computer model sky. Right now the heavier rain is shown far south of us but I suspect it'll end up a little closer to us. Below you see where the HPC puts the green:
