Heat & Rain Chances Return To Forecast
BEAUTIFUL DAY TODAY
Lower humidity, cooler temperatures and plenty of sunshine greeting North Texans on this the first day of June. Temperatures have climbed into the lower and mid 80s. Below is the 3p temperature map for today.
SLIGHT CHANCE OF STORMS LATE TONIGHT & EARLY SATURDAY MORNING
An upper level disturbance currently over Colorado will move southeast toward Texas during Friday evening. This will strong thunderstorms over the Texas Panhandle this evening, which will begin to move our way. The storms should be falling apart as they get here however, because we don't have as much instability or moisture to work with. But there could be a few showers & storms around late overnight closer to 3 or 4am. Most of the activity will be along the Red River and up into Oklahoma where a weak frontal boundary is set-up. This will be a low end chance for rain early Saturday morning...most of us will remain dry.
HEAT BUILDS BACK QUICKLY
The mild temperatures of today will be gone by tomorrow. As south winds take back over, we'll see high temperatures back above normal starting this weekend through most of next week. We should stay completely rain-free Sunday and most of Monday...but by Monday night more upper level disturbances will be moving overhead. These disturbances will be rather small but will mean that there is at least a small chance of rain each day next week. Most of the storms look like they will form during the peak heating of the afternoon...very typical of summer pop-up storms.
