The Fan's NFL Draft Scouting Combine Positional Rankings
By Kevin 'KT' Turner & Jeff Cavanaugh for 105.3 The Fan
The NFL Draft Scouting Combine can help and hurt NFL prospects. The tape is certainly the most important thing, but teams do use their measurements/medicals/interviews/agility tests to make sure the prospects meet certain thresholds and make sure their measurements match what was seen on tape.
The Fan's Kevin Turner and Jeff Cavanaugh are each raking their 'Top 5' for each position in the draft before they start getting on the field and turning in times. This is based on the tape.
Two disclaimers:
1. OG, C, TE are not listed. I'm not far enough along with these three groups to confidently put a top 5 in order, and I refuse to fake it. Ryan Kelly is the best center, Cody Whitehair is the best guard, Hunter Henry is the best TE, but a top 5 I'm just not comfortable doing yet.
2. EDGE players who may be a DE in a 4-3 or an OLB in a 3-4 will just be listed as either DE or OLB instead of in their own separate category.
