The Cowboys Are The Worst At Beating The Best
I hear Jerry Jones tell me every week that the NFL is a league of parity. Any team can win on any given Sunday, but the Cowboys can't, not in 2013.
Most teams have established if they are a winning team or losing team this season. With 2 games remaining, the Cowboys have a game at Washington and at home against Philadelphia. If you look at the Cowboys record, there is a good chance they play for the division title in 2 weeks AND... lose. Why? Because the Cowboys are 1-7 this year against teams that are .500 or better.
The positive spin, they are 6-0 against the teams under .500 this season. If you take a close look at the 1 win against Philadelphia, you could argue the Eagles lost 17-3, the Cowboys didn't win.
I had to take a look at the 10 teams left in the NFC competing for a playoff spot and see if they are as bad as the Cowboys at beating quality teams. I found out there is parity in the NFL. Others teams can win against a quality opponent and also slip up against a bad team. Here are the stats:
In 2012 the Cowboys were 3-7 against teams .500 or better and 5-1 against teams below .500
In 2011 the Cowboys were 1-8 against teams .500 or better and 7-0 against teams below .500
