Texas Schools Accountablity Ratings Jump

According to the TEA - Texas schools' accountability ratings have jumped quite a bit.  The Texas Education Agency released its report Friday afternoon, and it shows many school districts with dramatic increases, because of a boost in scores based on projecting students' future performances on the state's standardized test.  Advocates say it rewards schools with a large percentage of disadvantaged students who are making consistent improvements, even if they fall short of minimum standards. Critics say the projection measure masks struggling students.  To see how school districts performed across Texas, click here:  http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/index.html
