COPPELL (AP) - Retail gasoline prices across Texas are up 3 cents this week to reach an average $1.89 per gallon.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported gasoline prices nationwide rose a nickel to average $2.06 per gallon.

Amarillo has the cheapest prices at the pump statewide with gasoline an average $1.78 per gallon. The association survey found Dallas and Fort Worth with the most expensive gasoline in Texas at $1.98 per gallon.

Experts say many refineries are doing seasonal maintenance, leading to a decline in fuel production. Refineries are preparing to produce summer-blend gasoline.
