Texas Electricity Bills Soar In Abnormally Cold Winter
DALLAS (KRLD) -- Over the past couple of months, some people have seen their electricity bills nearly double across North Texas -- though their thermostats haven't changed.
Since the beginning of November, there have been 43 days of sub-freezing temperatures in the DFW area -- compared to 33 in a typical year.
Is the weather to blame for the rising bills? Partly, though you may be surprised to find out that it might be your own fault.
KRLD's Melanie Brown talked with Lauren Little at TXU Energy about what's behind the rising bills -- and how you can save on your bill.
