WEATHERFORD (AP) - Two 14-year-old North Texas boys who threw rocks at vehicles must serve two years of probation after a woman was hit in the face and needed more than 20 stitches.
A Parker County prosecutor said Wednesday that juvenile officers recommended probation over the July incident along Interstate 20 in Weatherford. Jeff Swain says the victim wants the boys, who expressed remorse, to move forward and lead productive lives.
Dyan J-Heim of Sahuarita, Arizona, was in a truck driven by her husband when a rock crashed through the window. She suffered broken teeth and needed stitches.
The boys on Tuesday pleaded "true" to aggravated assault and criminal mischief, leading to a finding of delinquent conduct. They must also do 200 hours of community service, undergo counseling and pay $2,000 restitution.
