ARLINGTON (KRLD) - There were some scary moments recently for one Arlington police officer.

Chief Will Johnson with the Arlington Police Department posted on Twitter that a 15-year-old boy walked up to an officer in a squad car and pulled out what looked like a real gun.

It was actually a BB gun, but shaped to appear as though it were a more deadly handgun. The officer quickly knocked the boy's gun out of his hands.

Johnson said that, thankfully, nobody was hurt. But this incident does underscore the fact that police officers are required to make split-second decisions like these every day.

Johnson plans to discuss the incident later on Friday afternoon.
