COLLIN COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - A North Texas teenager is afraid for his life when he realizes he's at home, alone, with a burglar.

Often named one of the safest cities in the country, Plano has been plagued in by dozens of home break-ins over the last few months. But thankfully, police say that within six minutes of a 911 call being placed they had a suspect in custody.

Nothing was out of the ordinary when Riashat Ishmam ignored a ringing doorbell. "I was in my room at the computer," he said.

The 17-year-old said he then heard loud banging. "I guess at that moment he [burglar] was at the window 'cause he was getting in or taking it [screen] off."

Riashat's father, Monzoor Choudhury, said things went from bad to worse. "Somehow he opened this from the outside." A man was breaking through a back window of the house.

Home alone, Riashat ran through his parents' bedroom, hid in the bathroom and dialed 911.

Riashat said he heard the burglar enter the master bedroom and start ransacking through drawers. Only an unlocked door stood between them.

"In my mind, I thought I was going to die, because I didn't know if he had a weapon or what he would do when he found me," the teenager recalled.

Plano police officers arrived in time to find the man crawling back out the window, with a bag of stolen goods in his hand.

Tonight that suspect, 27-year-old Farhood Allahdadi, is in jail.

His incarceration brings relief to his victims. Riashat said, "I'm just happy he got caught."

With a deep sigh father Monzoor Choudhury said, "You know I'm very lucky my son is alive."

Family members say Allahdadi was stealing jewelry from the house. Police are now working to find out if the suspect is connected to any other burglaries in the area.
