After demolishing Ole Miss in the 2014 Peach Bowl, expectations are high for a TCU team returning 17 total starters, including quarterback Trevone Boykin.

The Horned Frogs were ranked No. 2 in the preseason Coaches Poll released on Thursday. Newly crowned rival Baylor was two slots behind at No. 4.

Ohio State, who won the National Championship with third string quarterback Cardale Jones, received 62 of 64 first place votes to nab the top spot. TCU and Alabama, ranked third, each received one first-place vote.

TCU and Baylor were named co-champions of the Big 12 last season, despite Baylor's 61-58 win in a head-to-head matchup. But both one-loss teams were snubbed by the College Football Playoff committee, who seemed unimpressed by the conference's lack of a title game.

The Horned Frogs went on to make a statement, beating Ole Miss 42-3 in the Peach Bowl. Baylor lost 42-41 to Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl.

The two teams play in Fort Worth on Nov. 27, the final game of the regular season.

Oklahoma was the only other Big 12 team listed in the top 25, coming in at No. 19 following an 8-5 season.
