Taxi Protest Comes To A Crawl At Love Field
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A rolling protest by Dallas cab drivers ends with some of them being hauled off to jail.
Dozens of cabs drove slowly through Dallas Monday afternoon and wrapped things up by blocking the entrance to Dallas Love Field.
Eight cab drivers in Dallas were arrested Monday outside of Dallas Love Field. They were part of the protest that stopped at the entrance to the airport.
The drivers are upset over a city policy that allows cabs that run on compressed natural gas to get the first chance to pick up passengers there. Police had to call in tow trucks to move some of the cabs to let other cars get into the airport.
City officials say they have a plan to prevent any similar protests from causing problems in the future - but they won't say what steps they would take.
