Taste Addison kicks off its 30th year with 50 food vendors, music and new entertainment
Taste Addison returned Friday night for its 30th year, bringing North Texans a weekend full of food, music, and new experiences.
The city's original food and music festival opens at 6 p.m. at Addison Circle Park and runs through Sunday. This year's event features more than 50 food vendors, which is about 25% of all restaurants in Addison.
It also features national headliners and unique performances.
"We're only 4.4 square miles, but we have 200 restaurants," said Mary Rosenbleeth with the Town of Addison. "Most restaurants per capita for any town in the United States. So it makes sense that we would host an amazing food and music festival."
The event is happening about a month earlier than usual, a change organizers say was made in part to help beat the Texas heat.
The layout has also been reworked with a new feel and the return of the popular carnival.
One of the weekend's standout additions is "Silk & Jazz," a performance combining live jazz music with aerial silk routines at the Terry Martin Main Stage.
Taste Addison is also offering special add-on experiences, including wine tastings in the Corkyard, spirit tastings in the Speakeasy, and a chocolate and whiskey pairing event called the Perfect Pair.
"It's just a great way for the community to come together," Rosenbleeth said. "And what better way than over food?"
Taste Addison runs Friday through Sunday. More information on performances, vendors, and tickets can be found at tasteaddisontexas.com.
