Tasha's To Do List: Feb. 26-March 1

KRLD -- Super heroes and nostalgic musical acts are coming to North Texas this weekend! Tasha Stevens fills you in on what's happening across Dallas-Fort Worth!

-- Get out those coins you have been saving and head over to the Dallas Rare Coin and Paper Money Show at the Gaylord Texan Thursday and Friday. You can buy and sell and chat with 50 of the country's top experts. There will also be a rare coin auction conducted by Heritage Auctions of Dallas.

-- Dallas Blooms, the largest floral festival in the Southwest, has been a tradition for 30 years, and this year's theme plays homage to the state of Texas. "Dallas Blooms: Deep in the Hearts of Texans" begins Friday and continues through April 12.

-- It is in my DNA to love this movie. I am southern, Irish, and I truly believe that "land is the only thing that lasts." Thursday night at the Angelika Film Center & Cafe (Plano), see the winner of 10 Academy Awards including Best Picture. This evening's Oscar Classics is "Gone with the Wind."

-- Thursday night, you can see a duo that got more than five million hits on YouTube in just three months. It started in 2011 with their dueling-cello version of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal". Thursday at Winspear Opera House, see the 2CELLOS do their versions of ACDC, Guns N' Roses, U2, Coldplay, Kings of Leon and more.

-- At the Meyerson Thursday night, hear the Dallas Symphony Orchestra's Winter Dreams. This performance will feature Tchaikovsky's early work that blends East and West with accents of Russian folk music.

-- During the 1960s, she was part of Motown's most successful act -- a group that to this day is America's most successful vocal group and one of the world's best-selling girl groups of all time. See Diana Ross at Verizon Theatre Thursday night!

-- Aghhhhh! I don't want Thursday to be the season finale of this show! Do they offer therapy for "How to Get Away with Murder" withdrawal? Check it out on ABC.

-- This looks like a pretty cool show. It follows the lives of school mascots. See the series premiere of "Behind the Mask" on HULU Thursday night!

-- A new Will Smith movie hits theaters Friday. His costar in "Focus" was born the year Fresh Prince hit the airwaves. You can cry now.

-- Olivia Wilde stars in a movie in theaters Friday called "Lazarus Effect". It is about researchers who can bring dead people back to life. Kinda like the 1990's movie "Flatliners". Or having Madonna appear on an awards show.

-- The 2015 Cowtown Marathon Weekend is happening this weekend at Will Rogers Memorial Center. This is the largest multi-race event in the State of Texas, offering a race distance for everyone including the Cook Children's 5K, Adults 5K and 10K on Saturday and the Ultra Marathon, presented by Miller Lite, Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday.

-- You may love him for his goat boy character on SNL. I love this dude because he is funny and he loves 80's rock -- and he combines the two in his shows. See Jim Breuer –live at House of Blues Dallas Fridya night.

-- Lock and Load people. The Gun Show is happening this weekend at Choctaw Casino Resort.

-- You love Marvel, now you can get an inside look. The "Marvel: Inside the World's Most Heroic Brand" talk Friday night at the University of North Texas Main Auditorium will offer a rare look inside the world of an iconic brand.

-- I love bull riding. Not doing it. Watching it. This weekend at ATT Stadium, it is the ultimate bull riding event. It is the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series. There is something for everyone. Pryro, the Top 35 bull riders in the world and the fiercest bucking bulls on the planet.

-- This guy is a Thanksgiving tradition at my father-in-law's house. On Thanksgiving Day at noon, we have to listen to Alice's Restaurant. Friday night, you can hear all his great tunes. Arlo Guthrie's Alice's Restaurant 50th Anniversary Tour at the Eisemann Center.

-- They started out in the early 70's in a Chicago basement, eventually becoming one of the world's biggest arena rock bands. You know the guys were cool for the fact that they hired a southern kid working at a bowling alley in Alabama to play guitar. The interesting thing about the tryout was that Tommy Shaw wasn't even asked to play the guitar. All they wanted to know was could he hit the high notes in the tune "Lady". He could, and he was hired. And we are thankful. Check out STYX at Billy Bob's Saturday night.
