Tarrant County Jailer Hospitalized After Alleged Attacked By Inmate

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A man who lost his leg to a train while trying to evade police in November 2015, attacked a jailer Wednesday afternoon according to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department.
Corrections officer Willie E. Clayborn, 58, was taking Victor Ramires, 31, back from JPS Hospital to the Tarrant County Jail when the attack happened.
Ramires is back in jail.
Officer Clayborn was able to repel the attack while suffering minor cuts and abrasions. Clayborn was taken to Harris Hospital Downtown for treatment. He is expected to be released sometime Wednesday night.
Ramires had spent the night in the hospital being treated.
He is being held on continuous sexual assault of a child under 14, fondling and felony escape.
More charges after Wednesday's incident are forthcoming.
