UPDATE 9:40 p.m. - Friends and church leaders confirmed 13-year-old Elise Cerami died at the hospital after she was pulled from the pool at the Aquatic Center in Southlake this morning.
SOUTHLAKE (CBS11) - A teen swimmer and coach were taken from the Aquatic Center in Southlake at Carroll Senior High School to different hospitals this morning after the 13-year-old was found floating in the pool. The swim team was practicing for the District's Club Team, the North Texas Nadadores.
Medics rushed the teen, later identified as Elise Cerami, to Cook Children's Medical Center by helicopter.
Her coach, Bill Christiansen, gave her CPR, according to witnesses -- then collapsed.
"I believe he had a heart attack giving her CPR," said Coach Jason Walter from Lakeside Aquatic.
Many witnesses stopped at his meet in Keller to deliver the news.
"Bill is a great man," said Walter. "He's a great coach, and a good friend. It's just been overwhelming."
Cerami had just finished the eighth grade and was a member of the advanced swimmers.
Carroll ISD told CBS11 that Coach Christiansen was classified in "good condition" at Baylor Hospital Monday evening.
