Suspect In Death Of Bridgeport Officer Pleads Guilty
It's a guilty plea from the suspect in the death of a Bridgeport police officer. It was April 2009 when Bridgeport Police Sergeant Randy White was killed after a stolen vehicle slammed into his patrol car.
Monday Stephen York entered a plea of guilty to capital murder. Wise County District Attorney Greg Lowery says that avoids a trial that could be painful for the officer's widow. This comes on a plea agreement York had declined last month. He is expected to receive life in prison without parole when he is sentenced next month.
