Student Suspended After Text Message

An Oklahoma University football player is suspended because of Twitter messages referring to Tuesday's gunman at the UT Austin campus.  Just days ahead of Saturday's renewal of the Red River Shootout at the Cotton Bowl, Oklahoma receiver Jaz Reynolds tweeted a message saying "...hey everyone in Austin, Texas. Kill yourself."  That was shortly after a UT sophomore did, in fact, kill himself after firing several rounds from his rifle on campus.

In suspending Reynolds, Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says the Sooners "...rivalry with Texas will not come at the expense of dignity and respect."   It's not clear how long he'll be suspended, but he will definitely miss at least Saturday's game between the 8th-ranked Sooners and the 21st-ranked Longhorns.

It may not be much of a handicap for Stoops and his offense, though.  Reynolds has no catches this season.
