Storms End Work Week, Wonderful Weekend Ahead
Our quiet, sunny pattern continues today with comfortable mornings in the 60s and a few pockets of 50s here and there along with warm afternoons in the low 90s. The morning lows running slightly below average countered with highs slightly above.
Today's southeast breezes will bring increasing humidity and we will begin to feel it this evening. Even though we are forecasting a high near 93 degrees again tomorrow, it will feel hotter thanks to the increased humidity. The returned moisture will also help increase our rain chances and amounts with the cold front coming in Thursday and Friday. Right now, model guidance is indicating a half to an inch of rain is possible for the western half of North Texas for the two days.
The front will come in Thursday evening and should be southeast of the Metroplex by the morning hours Friday. The front will slow its southeast progression somewhat and will effectively prolong our rain chances from Thursday afternoon into the mid morning hours Friday. The bulk of the rain should fall Thursday night into Friday morning and will taper off from northwest to southeast by the midday hours Friday.
Behind the front, north winds take over and bring drier, cooler air for Friday evening with temperatures in the 60s and low 70s. Friday night the mercury will dip into the 50s for most areas making for a beautiful Saturday morning for soccer games or getting out on two wheels. Same set up for Sunday morning!
