Storms Chances Better Monday

We had another 100 degree day at DFW (officially 101°, equidistant between the normal of 96° and the record of 106°). This made the 10th time we hit a triple-digit high at the airport. This time last year we had already logged that mark 28 times.

Storms started up late in the day, not nearly the coverage we had yesterday nor the intensity.

Tomorrow we expect slightly cooler weather because of clouds and a 20% chance for storms. The source of this is from a slow-moving mid-level low that is drifting out of Louisiana into south Texas.

The rain chances will again peak during the daytime heating. Any of these storms could produce damaging winds and frequent lightning.

The rain chances drop away by Tuesday, it is looking rather dry through the week. We'll include a slight chance of storms on Friday (10%) but otherwise, its hot and dry weather.

The Midwest heat wave and drought keeps going on. The core of 100-degree weather continues to bake the core of the corn belt.
