Storm Chances Increasing This Week

HUMIDITY STAYS HIGH...CHANCE OF RAIN EACH DAY

We had a few showers and thunderstorms earlier this morning, especially north of I-20 and west of Highway 75.  The rain has fizzled out after sunrise and we'll have several rain-free hours in North Texas through the early afternoon.

Later this afternoon, as our very humid & unstable atmosphere reaches peak heating, we'll have a few more showers and thunderstorms pop-up.  Rain chances will not be terribly high.  A low pressure area is in West Texas today...but will slowly drift east toward us over the next 2-3 days, increasing our rain chances.

It appears our best rain chances will be Wednesday through Friday, with scattered thunderstorms developing during the afternoon.  Right underneath the upper low, there will be a lingering rain during the overnight hours.  This is typical in these very tropical-like scenarios..with locally heavy rain possible.

Some of our computer models are projecting very large rainfall amounts...with several inches of rain possible by the time we get to the end of the week.  This will overall be good news...despite the increase in humidity, June rainfall is nearly always helpful to keep temperatures from going terribly high.
