FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - One of Cowtown's biggest events is causing big frustration for homeowners.

The Stock Show and Rodeo continues for another two weeks.

That's another two weeks, some homeowners say, they'll have trouble even parking in front of their own houses.

Events will take place between January 16 and February 7 in Fort Worth, but that meas nagging parking problem on Montgomery Street for residents.

"No parking" signs are up on Montgomery Street in front of resident's homes. Homeowners say the parking problem it's not fair to them.

18-year-old Eric Saldana's parents have owned their for decades, but when the Fort Worth Stock and Rodeo Show comes to town Eric has difficulty parking in his own driveway.

"The thing that's difficult for people who live here, we have two or three more trucks," explains Eric.

With limited driveway parking for his family, Saldaña says he doesn't have a choice.

Some residents say they have to watch out for police officers to avoid getting ticketed for parking in front of their home.

City officials say they conduct limited enforcement but we've spoken to homeowners who say they have received citations.

Many neighbors say that it is more than just a parking situation but a safety concern as well.

Residents, who live in the area, say during the stock show and other major events traffic congestion is potentially very dangerous.

"I think it's more of a public safety issue," says Homeowner Christopher Bonilla.

It's a concentrated mix of automobiles, large trailers and many people trying to get across streets on foot.

"There's children all the time at the stockyards and we need to be careful with our citizens and our visitors," says Bonilla

City officials say when the signs go up they have to make sure no one parks on Montgomery Street.

Police officers will accommodate homeowners if a homeowner comes out and talks to them.

But city officials say officers do issue parking citations when vehicles are illegally parked.
