HOBBS, N.M. (AP) — Authorities say a Texas man has died after a car crash in New Mexico.
New Mexico State Police on Monday identified the victim as 19-year-old Fabian Mendoza of Denver City.
They say Mendoza was driving a vehicle that crossed into another lane of traffic on U.S. 62/180 and collided head-on with a pickup truck southeast of Hobbs on Saturday.
Mendoza was taken to a Lea County hospital where he later died of his injuries.
State Police say a passenger in Mendoza's car suffered serious injuries and the truck driver also was transported for medical treatment.
