This Thursday Sons of the Flag will kick off its second annual Stars & Stripes Film Festival. It spotlights popular military films and supports a very special organization.
Navy Seals veteran and Purple Heart recipient Ryan "Birdman" Parrot is the Founder of Sons of the Flag. He was severely burned in 2005 when an IED exploded under his Humvee. Upon returning to Texas, Ryan began Sons of the Flag to support both civilian and military burn victims.
The Stars and Stripes Film Festival not only shows popular military films, they bring in guest speakers from that specific conflict.
"Thursday night our opening film is 'Zero Dark Thirty' and we have General Tommy Franks, Commander of SATCOM, coming in to speak about his time in service" Ryan said.
JD Ryan gives you a sneak peek at The Stars & Stripes Film Festival at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas.
