Small, Very Small Rain Chances this Weekend for North Texas
CLOSE TO 100 TODAY…
As of 330pm we have not reached 100 yet at DFW. The high today at DFW has been 97 degrees around 330pm.
TEMPERATURES EASE THIS WEEKEND, BUT HUMIDITY INCREASES…
Highs tomorrow and Sunday will be in the mid 90s. But the humidity will increase as disturbance that is entering South Texas moves off to the NW. This will increase moisture levels in the atmosphere making it more humid.
Here is where that disturbance is located…
SMALL RAIN CHANCES THIS WEEKEND…
That increase in moisture may lead to a few isolated showers and thunderstorms this weekend. Saturday will be dry in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with only very isolated rain well south of I-20 on Saturday. Sunday is the day where we could see a few isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Coverage will be less than 20% but any storm will be capable of brief heavy rain and winds gusting to 50 mph.
RECORD HEAT IN THE EAST…
Nashville today recorded their highest temperature ever. Topping out at 109! Washington D.C. has set a new June record high temperature..up to 104°. Much of the eastern half of the country is in the triple digits. Here's a look at temperatures as of the 3pm hour.
HEAT WARNINGS AND ADVISORIES ARE UP FOR THIS AREA TOO…
The Ridge of high Pressure that is building the heat over the east will come back over Texas for the middle of next week bringing our temperatures back close to the century mark for the 4th of July.
