GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) - Authorities are looking for a registered sex offender who escaped from a Fort Worth halfway house just after 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Charles Raymond Sprague is being called a "violent sexual predator" who must be apprehended.
Sprague quietly slipped away from the facility, located in the 600 block of North Henderson Street, and then somehow cut off an electronic tracking device which the law requires him to wear at all times.
Investigators described Sprague as a 44-year-old Native American man, 6 feet 6 inches tall and about 240 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, dark jeans and white sneakers. He was carrying a clear backpack.
Officials said that Sprague has "an extensive criminal history" that includes aggravated kidnapping.
Anyone with information on the location of this individual is urged to contact authorities immediately. Officials warned that Sprague is considered a dangerous fugitive, and should only be confronted by law enforcement officers.
