Serial Woman Beater Sentenced To Prison

MCKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) - A jury has sentenced John Turner Gray, 21, of McKinney, to 16 years in prison for the physical assaults of several women.

"In less than two years, Gray committed seven assaults total on five different female victims," said Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis.

The assaults spanned between 2013 through 2015 and included girlfriends, family members and an acquaintance.

Two former girlfriends testified that Gray dragged them by their hair and punched them. A friend of one of Gray's former girlfriends told the jury she tried to step in to stop the abuse and he punched her in the face, shattering her orbital socket. She had to undergo reconstructive surgery to fix her cheekbone and nylon mesh was now supports her eye.

Gray has also attacked his sister and mother. He threw a watch at his mother, splitting her lip, according to her testimony. His sister said Gray hit her in the face, grabbed her hair, and repeatedly stomped on her after throwing her to the ground.

Gray was sentenced to 16 years for aggravated assault. He also received five and seven year sentences for continuous violence against the family.

The assaults took place in McKinney and Frisco.
