Retail Gasoline Prices Jump 6 Cents Across Texas
IRVING (AP) — Retail gasoline prices across the state have jumped 6 cents per gallon this week.
AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average price at the pump statewide reached $3.01 per gallon. Nationwide gasoline prices rose 3 cents, to hit $3.22 per gallon.
The association says gasoline price increases in the Midwest were partly a result of heavy storms and concerns of potential refinery disruptions. AAA says overall impact appears limited.
Amarillo has the cheapest gasoline in Texas at $2.92 per gallon. Drivers in Texarkana and the Austin-San Marcos area are paying the most at $3.04 per gallon.
AAA says Texas is among the top 10 states with the least expensive gasoline a week before Thanksgiving. The group projects about 3.4 million Texans will travel during next week's five-day holiday period.
