NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - This week's domestic violence homicide of Desiree Morris, 17, reminds the problem is rampant. In fact, last year the Texas Council on Family Violence released a report proving domestic violence has worsened in the last three years.
The report said 132 women were killed in the state in 2014; up from 119 deaths in 2013.
Local domestic violence shelters are working tirelessly to change the uptick in numbers of women killed by their male intimate partners. Here's a list of some of them.
