The Belmont Stakes will be missing a marquee name when it runs next month.

Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist has been pulled from the field due to health complications, according to multiple reports.

Jack Sisterson, Nyquist's assistant trainer, told TMZ Sports that Nyquist has an elevated white blood cell count, a sign of a possible infection.

Nyquist was also battling a fever of 102 following Saturday's Preakness, in which the horse finished third.

"We just want to do right by Nyquist right now," Sisterson said. "We want to make sure he'll be back to 100 percent in the next few days.
