ARLINGTON (AP) - The Texas Rangers are clearing another spot on their 40-man roster by not tendering a contract offer to right-handed pitcher Fabio Castillo.

Castillo is the only player on the Rangers 40-man roster not to receive a contract tender by Monday's 11:00 p.m. CST deadline. That means the Rangers have 36 players on that roster.

Castillo was originally signed by Texas as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2005. The 22-year-old right-hander went 3-6 with 9 saves and a 6.36 earned-run average in 42 relief appearances with Double-A Frisco last season.

He was added to the 40-man roster in November 2010 as protection from the Rule 5 Draft.
