Rainfall Totals from Sunday and a Look at Next Rain Chance
PLEASANT WEATHER FOR NEXT FEW DAYS…
Much needed rain fell this weekend across North Texas. But last night's storms did do their damage. Trees reported down, powerlines knocked over, and large hail all created problems. But the rainfall was a welcomed sight. Areas from Dallas County into Collin County and to the east saw the heaviest rain yesterday.
COOL NIGHTS, WARM AFTERNOONS…
Tonight thru Wednesday will be rather pleasant with morning lows in the 60s and afternoon highs a little on the warm side (upper 80s to low 90s). Mostly sunny skies will prevail each afternoon.
NEXT RAIN CHANCE…
Another cold front will arrive Wednesday night into Thursday. It doesn't appear that this front will have the upper level support like the one we saw on Sunday. That would limit the intensity of the rain and the coverage. I will put in a 20% chance of rain on Thursday. There could be a larger area and longer lasting area of rain along the Red River into Oklahoma on Thursday.
FALL OFFICIALLY BEGINS ON FRIDAY…
The Autumnal Equinox is Friday at 4:05am. That is when the sun's direct rays will be on the Equator. Then those direct rays will migrate and stay in the Southern Hemisphere for the next 6 months. This will start Fall here in the Northern Hemisphere which is already noticeable with earlier sunsets and later sunrises. This shortening of the daylight will continue until the Winter Solstice around Dec. 22.
NICE WEEKEND…
After the front slides thru Thursday, quiet weather can be expected into the weekend with highs again in the upper 80s and low 90s and morning lows in the 60s. Here is the 7-day forecast…. http://weather.dfw.cbslocal.com/US/TX/Dallas.html
