Rain Headed For Hail Battered Wylie This Weekend
WYLIE (CBSDFW.COM) — Residents in the Country Ridge Estates subdivision of Wylie are bracing for another round of storms this weekend.
Heavy rain is expected in the area, and for residents there who are still recovering from a devastating hail storm this week the forecast is causing concern.
Linda Foster's home took a heavy hit from hail damage on Monday.
She said she's "a little nervous because we have tarps on and wood in the windows."
Almost every home has some kind of damage and all have temporary fixes on them. Those efforts will be put to the test on Sunday when the rains move in.
Contractor John Patrino with MEIS roofing and construction said one of the biggest concerns is that many residents may not know just how bad their home was damaged during the last storm.
He added, "there's a lot of folks that maybe still need to have emergency repair."
Proper repairs in that area according to Patrino could take months because the work load is back logged with more than 350 homes damaged.
So for now resident like Foster are just relying on their tarps and plastic covers to get them through the next round of severe weather.
Foster said, "its going to be a while but I think everyone will make it."
