Rain, Glorious Rain!

Rounds of showers with heavy downpours from time to time will be our weather story for much of this third Tuesday of August.  This day would normally see high temperatures near 96 degrees, but the showers and clouds will keep temperatures in the 70s (60s west!) for most of the day until late day sunshine will help most areas reach the mid-80s while areas to the west may top out in the upper 70s with lingering cloud cover over the rain cooled environment.  This just one week after hitting a record high of 106 degrees last Tuesday.

Showers and storms will continue to push in from the northwest to the southeast through the midday hours then die off by the late afternoon hours.  Rainfall amounts will total around .10 inches to .25 inches with higher amounts west and lighter amounts east.  Rain chances along with forecast highs are illustrated in the graphic below.

After today's rain and unseasonably cool weather, we go back to a warm, dry pattern with only small heat of the day storm chances Friday and Saturday.  Temps will return to seasonal norms in the mid-90s.
